Academic Senate Executive Board 2023-24

The Executive Board is a advisory body for the President of the Academic Senate.

About the Executive Board

Charge

The Executive Board shall:

  1. Provide advice and counsel to the Senate President
  2. Assist the Senate President in developing the agenda for the regular meetings of the Senate
  3. Assist the Senate President in filling vacancies in offices and shall serve as the Nominations Committee.
  4. Assist the Senate President in preparing the annual budget of the Senate.

Scope of Authority
The primary authority of the Executive Board is in assisting the Academic Senate President in developing and shaping agenda items for the Senate. In addition, the E-board interviews and selects faculty co-chairs of governance committees. If the co-chair position includes a stipend or release time, the E-Board interviews and puts forth faculty co-chairs of governance committees. Senate Executive Officers appoint, through the Senate President, faculty to screening committees during the summer when the full Senate does not meet.
